Mr. Cox is the civilian deputy commander of the 4th Mission Support Group, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. The 4th Mission Support Group is responsible for providing civil engineering, communications-computer systems support, security and law enforcement, personnel, information management, education, food services, fitness, procurement, logistics readiness, and housing for a community of more than 13,000 people. The group is also responsible for supporting the 4th FW commitments as a lead Air Expeditionary Wing.

Mr. Cox was born in Mount Olive, North Carolina and received his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and his graduate degree from the University of South Dakota’s School of Business. He retired from the Air Force in 2004 after 27 years of active duty. His active duty experience included nuclear operations, security, manpower, and various staff assignments. During his active duty career, he held positions at various bases, Air Staff, and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
