Fuel, the blood of an aircraft

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --   The 4th Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels management flight provides safe and efficient delivery of fuels and cryogenic products for the aircraft stationed here.

The fuels management flight, currently the reigning Drake Trophy winner, has 88 Airmen assigned to support the 95 F-15E Strike Eagles and 16 KC-135R Stratotankers.

The main functions of the fuels management flight are to provide on-scene refueling, inspect and assure quality equipment for use, process and oversee transactions, transfer liquid oxygen, manage inventory and evaluate the cleanliness of fuel.

The Drake Trophy signifies the best fuels management flight in Air Combat Command.
