Airmen from the 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron corrosion control shop are restoring the F-86 Sabre in Heritage Park to honor a former ace and member of the 4th Fighter Wing.

The F-86 will be repainted to honor Col. James Jabara, who was the second highest scoring air ace of the Korean War while being assigned to the 334th and 335th fighter squadrons.

This three-week project required Airmen to work day and night to sand and strip the old paint and repaint with a new design.
