Alicia Baggett, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base family child care provider, was recently recognized as the 2018 Seymour Johnson AFB Family Child Care Provider of the Year.

Every Air Force installation recognizes one of their family care providers each year. This is the second time Baggett has earned this award, as she was awarded by Royal Air Force Lakenheath in 2011.

Baggett has provided child care for more than five years for Team Seymour and has over a decade of experience.

“It feels good to be recognized and it just reaffirms that I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” said Baggett. “I love what I do and I’m going to continue providing child care regardless of being formally recognized.”

The family child care support staff compile information from parent and child feedback, providers display of professionalism and annual program survey, along with reports from unannounced monthly inspections, annual fire, safety, and health inspections, and an Air Force high headquarters surprise inspection.

“She has established a reputation for providing exceptionally high-quality child care,” said Beth Sebok, 4th Force Support Squadron family child care coordinator. “Alicia is a dynamic role model for child and youth professionals and continuously exceeds the Air Force’s standards.”
