Volunteer of the Month
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. - Ernestine Brown is a fleet manager with the 4th Logistics Readiness Squadron. As the backbone of the Vehicle Management Flight, Mrs. Brown’s section advocates for proper planning and scheduling to ensure the safety and serviceability of 610 vehicles valued at more than $41 million. Her favorite aspect of volunteering is assisting those in need who may feel hopeless or helpless. She said it is personally rewarding to make a difference where she can. Her most memorable volunteer experience was a Field Day at Edgewood Developmental School, where she partnered with a child with special needs. Participating in activities that most people take for granted was humbling and absolutely memorable, she said. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Senior Airman Marissa Tucker)
