SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --
Airmen of the 4th Fighter Wing kicked off Air Combat Command's Operational Readiness Inspection CORONET WHITE today.
The inspection demonstrates the wing's ability to deploy for real-world contingencies operations.
"I know the Airmen of Seymour Johnson are fully prepared for this inspection," said Lt. Col. Brian Montgomery, 4th Fighter Wing Director of Inspections. "We know what our responsibilities are and we are ready to execute them at a moment's notice."
In preparation for the inspection, the wing tested it's Airmen by conducting multiple operational readiness exercises throughout the past year.
"The OREs have allowed us to work out the kinks and make us ready for this inspection," said Staff Sgt. Roger Kemp, 4th Civil Engineer Squadron fire fighter. "The constant adaptations that we have undertaken have prepared us for almost any inject. We may stumble at first, but the mission will be accomplished effectively and in a timely matter."
This inspection gives Team Seymour the opportunity to show Air Combat Command the great things our Airmen do and the hard work they put into their jobs, said Montgomery.
"After months of preparation, it's exciting to see the ORI is finally here," said Maj. Jennifer Swazay, 4th Comptroller Squadron commander. "You can see and feel the energy amongst everyone, even at 5 a.m. And speaking with other squadron commanders, their guys are just as energized and ready. I'm proud to have watched the progress of both comptroller and Wing Staff Agency personnel over these months and I know they'll knock it out of the park."
