The Seymour Johnson 4th Medical Group physical therapy clinic will offer a new service beginning September 1, 2011.

The physical therapy flight will offer an acute care clinic for active duty members to be seen from 7:30 to 8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on a walk-in basis, no referral required. The clinic will see acute pain cases such as musculoskeletal injuries of the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, midback, lower back, hip, knee and ankle joint. Acute pain is defined as pain that is less than 30 days in nature. Additionally, the clinic can offer X-rays, medication and profiles to active duty members.

However, there are some restrictions to services in the physical therapy clinic, to include: numbness/tingling below the level of the knee, numbness/tingling of both lower legs, loss of bowel or bladder control or obvious bony deformity. If you have any of these symptoms, you should first contact your primary care manager for an appointment using the appointment line at 722-1802. If you have acute pain that has recently developed, come see your local physical therapists, Maj. Jana Weiner and Capt. Jordan Richardson.

For more information, call the physical therapy clinic at 722-1846.
