CHIEF MASTER SGT. SHANE R. WAGNER
Chief Master Sergeant Shane Wagner is Command Chief, 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina. He is the primary advisor to the wing commander on matters affecting mission readiness through morale, quality of life, utilization, health and welfare of the wing's enlisted forces. With approximately 5,700 active-duty military members and civilians, the wing conducts and supports air combat operations. The wing's mission is driven by two combat-ready F-15E Strike Eagle fighter squadrons and two training fighter squadrons.
CMSgt Wagner enlisted in the Air Force in 1993 as an Aircraft Armament Journeyman. Chief Wagner cross-trained into the Weather AFSC in 1997 and has worked with the 6th Battalion, RoK, 7th Sustainment Brigade (TRADOC), 82nd ABN Div, JSOC, and AFSOC. He has multiple combat deployments to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and numerous classified locations in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Prior to assuming his current assignment, CMSgt Wagner served as the Superintendent, 4th Operations Group. His qualifications include, Basic Static Line Parachutist, Military Freefall, and Army Pathfinder.
