Community Engagement
The Community Engagement section serves as the liaison between Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and neighboring Wayne County communities. Public Affairs representatives can help civic groups schedule a base tour or find the perfect speaker for an event. Our Air Force family has many careers and job occupations we can tell you about.
4th Fighter Wing Speaker's Bureau: The Air Force Speakers Program works to increase face-to-face contact with the public to help build and sustain understanding and support for our service during this critical time in our nation's history. The men and women of SJAFB make excellent guest speakers for civic organizations, schools, universities and community events. Active duty military and civilians here have numerous Air Force topics they can discuss with the public about the wing mission, the base's economic impact and our role in national defense. Requests require a minimum of 30-days notice. To make a request, please fill out this form.
Base Tours: SJAFB provides tours to the public with the help of the City of Goldsboro and can also provide private group tours. For more information, or to sign up, please click here.
Flyover Requests: To request a flyover for an event, please follow the instructions located here.
Noise Complaints: Goldsboro's motto is "We love jet noise!" and as much as we love the sound of Freedom, we understand that sometimes it can be a bit too much. If you need to report an incident of excessive noise, please click here.
