Spanning more than five decades and five wars, the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is one of the most distinguished fighter units in the world. In addition, it has the distinction of being one of only two Air Force units that can trace its history to another country.
Today our Airmen support contingency operations all over the world. Strike Eagle firepower is available wherever and whenever it is needed. From the Eagle Squadron Spitfires through the mighty F-15E Strike Eagles of today, the 4th Fighter Wing has been the tip of the spear confronting America’s enemies. The heart of the volunteer resides in today’s Airmen of the 4th Fighter Wing.
To continue to be ready at all times, to stay sharp, and to protect America and its interests, the 4th FW trains relentlessly. While the motto of Goldsboro, the area surrounding SJAFB, is “We love jet noise!”, it’s understandable that sometimes a little too much of a good thing can actually be a bad thing.
If the time comes when an F-15E from Team Seymour is making too much noise, please click here and provide as much information as possible. A member from the Public Affairs office will get back to you shortly after, as we strive to be the best neighbors out there!
