The Civic Outreach division serves as the liaison between Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and neighboring Wayne County communities. Public Affairs representatives can help civic groups schedule a base tour or find the perfect speaker for an event. Our Air Force family has many careers and job occupations we can tell you about.
4th Fighter Wing Speaker's Bureau: The Air Force Speakers Program works to increase face-to-face contact with the public to help build and sustain understanding and support for our service during this critical time in our nation's history. The men and women of SJAFB make excellent guest speakers for civic organizations, schools, universities and community events. Active duty military and civilians here have numerous Air Force topics they can discuss with the public about the wing mission, the base's economic impact and our role in national defense.
Requests for a speaker require a minimum of 30-days notice. For more information or to make a request, call 919-722-0027 or visit www.afoutreach.af.mil/afspeakers.
ROTC Tours: The 4 FW/PA offers tour assistance to area high school and college ROTC units. Base tours require a minimum of two-weeks notice to schedule a visit. These tours help students learn the Air Force way of life.
Public Tours: The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and SJAFB partner together to create a monthly tour that is open to the public. Tours are hosted the last Thursday of each month throughout the year from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Guests see the F-15E Strike Eagle and the KC-135R Stratotanker to learn how we provide airpower on-target, on-time for America. Photography is welcome during the tour. To add your name to guest list or schedule a group tour, call the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce at 919-734-2241.
