Col. Chad L. Shenk is the Commander, 414th Fighter Group, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. As the Commander, Col. Shenk is responsible for executing the Chief of Staff of the Air Force directed Total Force Integration with the 4th Fighter Wing. The 414th Fighter Group is an Air Force Reserve Command unit manned by highly experienced F-15E fighter pilots, weapon systems officers, intelligence professionals and maintenance technicians. He directs activities of 275 personnel assigned to the 307th Fighter Squadron and the 414th Maintenance Squadron.
Col. Shenk is a 2001 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on project management. His previous assignments include 307th Fighter Squadron Commander, Director of Operations, COCOM Strategic Planner, Operational Test Pilot and Wing Executive Officer. Prior to his current assignment Col. Shenk was the 414th Maintenance Squadron Commander.
Col. Shenk is a Command pilot with nearly 3,000 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, F-15E and F-16C/D. In his civilian capacity, Col. Shenk is a pilot with a major airline.
