Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force PETER A. MARTINEZ

Chief Master Sergeant Peter A. Martinez serves as the Command Chief, 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. The wing is comprised of 4 groups and 22 squadrons with 7,000 active-duty and civilian members as well as 15,000 dependents and retirees. He is the primary advisor to the Wing Commander on all matters affecting mission readiness, morale, quality of life, utilization, health and welfare of the Wing. The 4th Fighter Wing is home to 94 F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft assigned to two operational and two training fighter squadrons, flying more than 12,000 sorties and 21,000 hours per year. Chief Martinez is a vital liaison between the installation and the local community in order to strengthen community relations and ensure diverse opportunities for Team Seymour families. 

Chief Martinez enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1997 as an Infantry Mortarman. He served as an Infantry Mortars Squad Leader before separating and reenlisting in the Air Force in 2002. He began his career as an Integrated Flight Control System specialist and has served in various facets throughout Aerospace Maintenance including: Lead Production Superintendent, Aircraft Maintenance Unit Superintendent, Maintenance Operations Superintendent, and Squadron Superintendent for multiple Squadrons. Chief Martinez’s weapon system experience includes: C-130E/J, C-17A, C-5M, KC-10, and KC-135 aircraft. Additionally, he has also led Basic Military Training as a Master Military Training Instructor. Chief Martinez has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, FREEDOM'S SENTINEL, two WESTPAC deployments, completed tours in Japan and Germany, as well as directly supported Operations OCTAVE QUARTZ, ALLIES REFUGE, and ALLIES WELCOME. 

Prior to his current position he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 435th Contingency Response Group at Ramstein AB, Germany.
