Community Programs EDUCATION ASSISTANCE: Gen. Henry A. Arnold $2,000 Grants for college. Available to Spouses and High School Seniors. CAR CARE BECAUSE WE CARE: Free 18-point safety inspection, oil change, and lube for the primary family vehicle. This is available to Spouses whose members are over 30 days TDY or if they are deployed/remote for over 90 days. BUNDLES FOR BABIES: Quarterly workshop for expectant mothers. Budgeting for Baby, Reducing Stress in a Growing Family, Airman & Family Readiness Center and Air Force Aid Society overview. Attendees will recieve a layette "bundle" of baby items and a baby growth chart. CHILD CARE FOR PCS: Within 60 days of PCS arrival/departure all ranks can receive a certificate from A&FRC personnel for up to 20 hours of free child care per child. CHILD CARE FOR VOLUNTEERS: For community agencies such as the A&FRC and the Red Cross. You can receive child care reimbursement while volunteering. GIVE PARENTS A BREAK (GPAB): For families experiencing unusal stress, AFAS pays for child care on the first Saturday of each month. Older children at the Youth Center, Younger children at the Child Development Center. FUNERAL ASSISTANCE: Upon the death of an immediate family member, bridge loans help cover immediate funeral and travel expenses until SGLI arrives. Grants are available in the event of a stillborn where SGLI currently does not provide coverage as well as other unique cases. RESPITE CARE: Those families in the Special Needs Identification & Coordination (SNIAC) program -formerly called EFMP- receive a break from constant care giving.
