Approximately 570 personnel are assigned to the 4th OG.
The 4th OG is comprised of six squadrons: The 333rd, 334th, 335th, 336th Fighter Squadrons, the 4th Operations Support Squadron and the 4th Training Squadron.
333rd & 334th Fighter Squadrons
The 333rd & 334th Fighter Squadrons are formal training units manned by hand-selected highly experienced Instructor Pilots and Instructor Weapon Systems Officers and support personnel with resources in excess of $1.1 billion. They are the sole training units responsible for qualifying all U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrew in day/night, all weather, air-to-air and air-to-ground Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night missions for worldwide operations.
335th & 336th Fighter Squadrons
The 335th & 336th Fighter Squadrons are operational units tasked to respond to wartime commitments and contingency taskings to secure and defend national interests worldwide. They employ conventional and precision weapons against targets in strategic attack, interdiction, counterair and offensive air support roles.
4th Operations Support Squadron
The 4th Operations Support Squadron provides operations support, air traffic control, airfield and weather services, intelligence, weapons, tactics, training, operations plans, aircrew flight equipment and mission planning capabilities for four F-15E squadrons, two KC-135 squadrons and multiple staff functions. They are also the stewards of the Dare County Bomb Range: a $40 million, 46,000 acre, joint-use bombing and electronic range facility which is the largest bomb range on the east coast.
4th Training Squadron
The 4th Training Squadron conducts academic and device training for U.S. Air Force and allied aircrews in the F-15E. They develop, accept and provide quality control for five formal Air Combat Command F-15E syllabi, training manuals and contracted courseware. They also manage the utilization of both Integrated Avionics Trainers and Mission Training Centers.
