SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 4th Fighter Wing will conduct a single-day operational readiness exercise starting early Thursday morning, January 11, and will terminate late in the evening.
During the exercise, residents in the local community can expect increased noise, aircraft activity with longer flying hours and potential traffic congestion on and near the base.
All local community members are advised and encouraged to plan accordingly as the base will operate under increased force protection conditions during the exercise, causing possible gate closures or delays.
Operational readiness exercises are designed to ensure the readiness of the 4th FW. This training ensures base personnel are prepared to answer the nation’s call anytime, anywhere.
