Volunteers sought for President's Volunteer Service Award

If you volunteer or know someone who volunteers, here is an opportunity for all volunteers to be recognized. The 2019 Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony and Social is scheduled for 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm April 9 at Heritage Hall.
Volunteers contribute much time, dedication, and enthusiasm to our base and local communities. They faithfully commit themselves and go beyond the call of duty. The President's Volunteer Service Awards recognize volunteers' commitment to programs and communities. They are ordinary people who accomplish the extraordinary through volunteerism. The time period for recognition is Jan. 1, 2018, to through Dec. 31, 2018.
Volunteers must access either: “My Air Force Volunteer” https://myairforcevolunteer.com or if you already have an account at the President's Volunteer Service Award website at http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov (Reminder please enter your category, "Adult, or Young Adult" so the site can track your hours for an award. If you put N/A in the category, the website will not track your hours for an award.
Start by going to the link above and see the tab that's entitled "Get Involved". Click on Volunteers...at the bottom of the page there's a "register" button. All records will need to be updated by Feb. 1. This allows time for the Airman & Family Readiness Center to process and order certificates for this year's awardees. You can register as an “individual” or as a "group".
Based on your registration and number of volunteer hours, along with the ultimate honor of presidential recognition, recipients will receive a personalized certificate, an official pin (bronze, silver or gold), and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.
