SJ 2012 CFC ends with record numbers Published Nov. 9, 2012 By Senior Airman Gino Reyes 4th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 2012 CFC ended with a record amount of donations collected from members of Team Seymour, Nov. 2, 2012. This year's base goal was to raise $228,000, which was surpassed by more than $4,000. "As an installation we donated more than $232,000, your generosity represents the largest-ever total donation for Seymour Johnson, I am deeply grateful for your amazing expression of selfless service and commitment to our great nation," said Col. Jeannie Leavitt, 4th Fighter Wing commander. "The generosity of Airmen in the 4th Fighter Wing has amazed me during the last eight weeks," said 2nd Lt. Aaron Valentz, 4th Medical Support Squadron medical readiness flight commander and CFC base representative. President John F. Kennedy established the CFC to consolidate federal employee fundraising efforts into one campaign. It is the world's largest single fundraising campaign supporting organizations that benefit veterans, provide scholarships for high school students and other various recipients. "Those contributions are the lifeblood for these organizations and many people will benefit from your selfless service and commitment...thank you Team Seymour, Valentz said. The contributions from the CFC will benefit local, national and international non-profit service organizations.
