The 4th Fighter Wing inspector general office is an outlet for any Department of Defense personnel who wish to report an issue or get clarification and guidance on Air Force Instructions or their rights.

The IGs mission is to sustain a credible Air Force system characterized by objectivity, integrity and impartiality through a responsive complaint investigation system, and fraud, waste and abuse programs.

"We are here as the resolution channel for personnel with issues to come by and be educated on what steps they can take according to Air Force Instructions," said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John-Louis Howell, 4th FW IG."

The IG uses the FWA program to systematically review operations and processes with designated monitors at different levels. They also educate all assigned personnel on what FWA is to build awareness.

The IG responsive complaint investigation system is a tool for problem resolutions that provides leadership an independent set of eyes and ears, and an unbiased fact-finder who can indicate when there is a need for command involvement. It also is an avenue to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.

"Using the IG office is the right all DoD members have," said Michael Lugo, 4th FW investigations and inquiries specialist. "Everyone is afforded the right to talk about any issue."

All personnel have the duty to promptly report violations of law, AFIs, policies, procedures and regulations, inappropriate conduct, abuse of authority and fraud and waste and abuse.

"We are here to help if you have any issues," Howell said.
