The 2012 Combined Federal Campaign kicked off Sep. 3 and will run through Oct. 12 providing members of the base community the opportunity to donate to more than 2,500
charities

Last year, Team Seymour exceeded its goal by $8,000 donating more than $225,000 to numerous local, national, and international organizations. This year's goal is $228,000.

"The Combined Federal Campaign provides a great opportunity for Airmen and civilians to show their generosity and make a difference in someone's life," said Col. Jeannie Leavitt, 4th Fighter Wing commander.

The CFC was established by President John F. Kennedy to consolidate federal employee fundraising efforts into one campaign. It is the world's largest and most successful single fundraising campaign supporting organizations that benefit veterans, provide scholarships for high school students and other various recipients.

"We should show our support to those organizations that support us," said Senior Master Sgt. David Houtz, 4th Security Forces Squadron operations superintendent. "Without support these organizations could not succeed."

According to the CFC website their mission is to promote and support humanity through a program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

"Monetary donations are the lifeblood of non-profit organizations," said 2nd Lt. Aaron Valentz, 4th Medical Support Squadron medical readiness flight commander. "If you haven't already utilized the services of one of these organizations, you or a family member may need to in the future."
