U.S. Air Force Airmen in need of instant advice on finance matters can get support without having to wait in line at the base Financial Service Office.

The virtual finance page, located under the "Life & Career" tab on the Air Force Portal, was established with Air Force finance customers time in mind. The page offers them several online tools and instant advice on financial events in military members' and Department of Defense civilians' lives.

"Almost all questions can be answered using virtual finance," said 2nd Lt. Trevor Spiro, 4th Comptroller Squadron financial services officer. "The system is incredibly user friendly with multiple links to bring you exactly where you need to go. It is much faster and less of a hassle than a phone call or physical trip."

The 'do-it-yourself' tools available for use include interactive pay and travel calculators, government travel card account access, and a permanent change of station in-processing system. The defense travel system is also accessible online to help with submitting travel vouchers to an finance personnel directly.

The virtual finance page however, should not be confused with self-service applications like myPay or the eFinance workspace. Virtual finance brings together financial services information and self-help applications for customers on the Air Force Portal. Links to those particular applications are accessible on virtual finance as well.

"This redesigned page greatly enhances finance 'do-it-yourself' capabilities, making the web and online assistance your initial resource to obtain financial help," said Jamie Morin, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller.

If customers navigate through virtual finance links but are still unable to locate specific answers is a link labeled "Can't Find What You Need?" offers them a tool which provides contact information for the local financial service office.
