Tribute to the sailor

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --  A flag folding ceremony was held in honor of the late Chief Petty Officer retired, Walter Mercer, July 31, here.

Walter Mercer completed 23 years of active duty service in the United States Navy. After his retirement, Mercer continued to show camaraderie and support to his country by working at the Xchange.

Upon completion of the ceremony Walter's wife, Marilou Mercer, accepted the flag with her daughter, Donna Peters, and a family friend by her side.
