Weekly bulletins for July 19

The following is a list of events taking place across the wing and in the local community:

- Due to the upcoming operational readiness exercise the following 4th Force Support Squadron facility hours will be effected.
*The Flight Kitchen will be closed July 23-26. The DFAC will remain operational with normal meal hours and the addition of a midnight meal. MREs will be available for purchase July 20-22 at the DFAC to uniformed personnel, to be consumed during the ORE. Uniformed members are limited to three MREs per day at the cost of $4.55 each (meal card holders only need to sign for their MREs). MREs will be available for purchase during Phase I at the PDF line. During Phase II operations, MREs can be purchased at the transition area or at the field kitchen.
*FIT classes July 23 and 25 are cancelled. Fitness testing will still continue, with limited available slots for those in emergency situations.
*Youth Programs Open Recreation will be open for regular business hours from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
*The Child Development Center and School-Age Program will extend their hours of operation during the exercise. Please note that additional fees will be added to your weekly bill if you utilize care during the early opening/late closing hours. If you use normal hours of operation at the CDC from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or the SAP either in the morning or afternoon depending on your child's schedule you will not be charged the additional child care fees. If additional care is required beyond these hours, the Family Child Care homes may be able to assist. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please contact the 4th FSS Airman and Family Services Flight at 919-722-5618. Below are the hours of operation for the two facilities
CDC hours:
· July 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
· July 24-26 from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. unless the ORE ends during the day at which point the center will close at normal hours.
SAP hours:
· July 23 from 6:30 to 8 a.m. and 2:45 to 7 p.m.
· July 24-26 from 5:30 to 8 a.m. and 2:45 to 7 p.m. if the ORE ends early the program will close at normal hours.
*All other operations will be at normal operational hours.

- Teens come by the Youth Center and work on a duct tape challenge. Make a difference in your community by working together to find an innovative solution that will work in the desert, make a very short video and share it to compete for 10 new iPads for the Teen Center. Projects must be finished by July 31. Come by everyday at 3 p.m. starting July 19. For more information, call 919-722-0398.

- Due to renovations at Heritage Hall, the community center staff has temporarily relocated to the Airmen's Center, in building 3650, attached to the Southern Eagle Dining Facility. Their current hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 919-722-0339.

- The legal office is now offering powers of attorneys and notaries from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Retiree legal assistance and wills are offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of the month. To make an appointment call 919-722-5322.

- A Dads -The Basics Parenting Class happens July 24, 25 and 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Family Place. To register, call 919-722-1878.

- Attention 4th Logistics Readiness Squadron customers: Block Training Schedule for July through December 2012 is as follows:
· Block I - General supply indoctrination: Aug. 21, Sept. 18, Oct. 16, Nov. 20, and Dec. 18 in the 4th LRS Conference Room (Bldg. 3500) at 8 a.m.
· Block 11 A-Bench stock: Aug. 22, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, and Dec. 19, in the 4th LRS Conference Room (Bldg. 3500) at 8 a.m.
· Block II B-Repair Cycle: Aug. 22, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, and Dec. 19, in the Flight Service Center (Bldg. 4536) call 919-722-3574 to sign up for a class.
· SPRAM Management: July 19, Aug. 23, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15, and Dec. 19, in the 4th LRS Conference Room (Bldg. 3500) at 1 p.m.
· Block III Equipment supplemental/refresher training: July 19, Aug. 23, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15, and Dec. 19, in the 4th LRS Conference Room (Bldg. 3500) at 2 p.m.

-A babysitter's course will be held Aug.1 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Two separate classes. To register visit www.redcross.org and go to the "prepared and getting trained" tab. A box will then drop down and applicants should choose "take a class."

- Current students are encouraged to submit an application and project to compete for one of three $1,200 cash awards. The application period for the 2012 NAIMES Student Spotlight Award runs through Aug. 31. Applications must be completed on the NAIMES Student Spotlight Award form, which can be obtained on the NAIMES website at www.naimes.org.  

- An anger and stress group meets every Friday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Family Place.

- The Family Place at 228 Carswell Lane is officially closed. Classes and meetings previously held at the Family Place have been relocated to the Family Life Center building 3721, which was previously named the Religious Education Center. The FLC is located on Vermont Garrison Street between the Base Chapel and the Child Development Center. To request use of the Family Life Center, call the Base Chapel at 919-722-0315.

- MPS customers, why wait in line for DEERS actions and ID cards? Avoid peak customer walk-in times by making an appointment online. You may search by city and state; make, change or cancel an appointment and receive email confirmation. - The 4th Medical Group is offering walk-in sick call is open to active duty members in uniform at Family Health Clinic duty days from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

- The Seymour Johnson Air Force Base gates are open the following hours:
Berkeley Gate (1) - 24 hours, 7 days a week;
Slocumb Gate (2) - 6 a.m. - 8 p.m., 7 days a week;
Oak Forrest Gate (3) - 6 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday through Friday
For large commercial vehicle deliveries outside of normal Slocumb Gate hours, contact security forces at 919-722-1211 or 919-722-1212.

- The Pre-Separation Briefing for the Air Force Reserve is given on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. in Building 4915, the Air Force Reserve Recruiting Office. This is a mandatory briefing per Air Force Instruction 36-3205. Airmen will not be allowed to out-process from the base unless they attend. For more information, call 919-722-2259.

- Wing In-Processing takes place each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Members are reminded to bring the following mandatory items to in-process: completed Duty Information Worksheet, sealed in-processing package and a copy of PCS orders. - Do you have an insight on how your work center can increase productivity or work more efficiently? - Airman Against Drunk Driving needs a minimum of six volunteers to make up three groups, so no one has to drive alone. Anyone authorized on base, including active duty, reserve, guard, retired military, dependants and Department of Defense employees can use this service. AADD operates out of the Airman's Center, attached to the DFAC. Civilian attire is authorized. To volunteer with AADD, email aadd.ride@seymourjohnson.af.mil. AADD is open Friday and Saturday nights, down days and holidays from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. For a ride during these hours, call 919-722-5633.

- The Installation Voting Assistance Office is open to individuals with questions about the upcoming election season. The office is located in the base fire department or can be reached at 919-722-7588 or 919-722-3840. Additional voting information can also be found at www.fvap.gov.
