The 4th Fighter Wing will conduct its second operational readiness exercise of the year, July 23 - 26.

The ORE will include phases I and II, which consist of the testing ability to rapidly deploy and the ability to survive and operate under simulated conventional, chemical and biological conditions.

"As a wing we have been tasked to employ airpower," said Tech. Sgt. Spencer Brassard, 4th Fighter Wing inspections and an exercises coordinator. "If we can't train effectively to prepare for that tasking, then our mission as a whole would be a failure."

Conducting OREs helps Airmen gain experience and knowledge about what it takes to deploy from their homestation and conduct operations in a deployed location.

"The Airmen need to swiftly and accurately perform their duties during a scenario so they can get back to normal operations," said Master Sgt. George Anderson, 4th Fighter Wing inspections and exercises coordinator.

During the exercise, evaluation team members will be inspecting Airmen on their ability to react and respond to different scenarios, which will include chemical attacks, cordoning off unexploded ordnances, providing emergency medical care and responding to a variety of enemy attacks.

"The ORE will test our effectiveness in working as a unified team to accomplish our mission," Brassard said.
