The 4th Medical Group Patient Safety Program earned the 2011 Air Combat Command Best Ambulatory Clinic Patient Safety Program award.

This is the second consecutive year ACC leadership presented the Strike Eagle Medic Patient Safety staff with the award.

"It feels great to win best in ACC for the past two years," said Tasha Hunter, 4th Medical Group patient safety manager. "I am blessed to work with an absolutely stellar 4th MDG leadership and staff who support the Patient Safety program."

Hunter said the award shows the 4th MDG staff is focused on providing excellent customer service and seamless health service support.

The patient safety program prevents harm to patients and reduces medical errors by receiving reports of near misses that occur. A near miss, or good catch, is any process, variation or error that could have resulted in potential harm to a patient but, due to successful intervention, patient mishap was avoided.
