SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --
The 335th Fighter Squadron commander was presented with a Bronze Star Medal for his leadership during a recent deployment in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM here, June 29.
Lt. Col. David Moeller provided outstanding leadership, management and combat skills that proved instrumental in projecting lethal airpower.
He led the largest F-15E Strike Eagle deployment since 2003, consisting of 24 aircraft and 94 personnel with a record 2,700 combat sorties equaling more than 12,000 flying hours.
Moeller oversaw twenty-four hour combat operations, which supported Coalition ground forces in the kill or capture of 34 high-value individuals.
The Bronze Star Medal was established by Executive Order in 1944 and is awarded to military members for combat heroism or meritorious achievement.
