Airmen assigned to the 4th Component Maintenance Squadron jet engine intermediate maintenance shop work hard to ensure that each of the 223 F-15E Strike Eagle engines here are ready for use at a moment's notice.

After an engine is delivered to the shop, it is disassembled and checked for problems. The maintainers check engines for foreign object debris, system failures and damages. These maintainers can typically fix and reassemble a broken engine in 12 days.

After graduating technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, Airmen are proficient in maintaining, inspecting and troubleshooting aircraft engines, small gas turbine engines and engine ground support equipment.
