The 4th Mission Support Group's new Seymour Johnson Support Center is open and ready for operation. Airmen from all support agencies are in the process of moving out of their old buildings and into the new one.

"Watching the construction from ground breaking to now has been pretty phenomenal." explained Col. Anne Winkler, 4th MSG commander. "We are excited about our building; it's quite a remarkable piece of architecture."

The building will include finance, military personnel, legal, traffic management and contracting. The goal of the support center is to bring together all the agencies from the 4 MSG to a central location allowing Airmen, family members and civilians the convenience of a one stop spot for services they need whether it be outprocessing, legal advice, a new ID card or just some financial information.

"It's about time we pull all of the support agencies together," Winkler said. "We needed a consolidated support center to provide our Airmen the best service through what we call 'one stop shopping,' where they can come and get the services they need from each support agency from one combined facility."

This new facility comes with a brand new state of the art courtroom for the legal office.

"Our job involves decisions that affect people's lives," said Lt. Col. Robert Preston, 4th Fighter Wing Legal Office commander. "The environment we provide here is highly professional and our courtroom should reflect that professionalism appropriately for the manner in which it will be used."

With all the agencies in a central location, day-to-day operations will be greatly improved. All these agencies, through one avenue or another, have to work with each other to get things done and this new building will allow that work to be more efficient. Along with efficiencies, this new building will greatly reduce the costs that were spent supporting all these agencies that were in different locations around the wing.

"I am excited about this new facility and the immense improvements it will make on day-to-day operations," said Maj. Anthony Smith, 4th Comptroller Squadron commander. "The new look and professionalism this building provides is a great win for the wing."
