Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! This is the sound heard before force protection conditions are issued. The 4th Security Forces Squadron are participating in a base-wide Phase II Operational Readiness Exercise (ORE).

"Our Airmen are motivated and ready to train hard," said Tech. Sgt. Elmer Smith, 4th SFS flight sergeant. "[We] will complete this training having received a better skill set."

The ORE scenario takes place on a simulated operating base in the Pacific Theater to allow Airmen the chance to acquire skill sets in operations other than the ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"I enjoy this training because it is based off operations in (the Pacific Theater)," said Airman 1st Class Joseph Kacynski, 4th SFS patrolman. "This training will provide us a new skill set."

Security forces Airmen are responsible for providing base security in real-world and exercise scenarios. The Airmen must react accordingly to different scenarios set in place. They will be evaluated and, if need be, corrected on their ability to provide fast and accurate force protection.

"Our job here is to react and overcome scenarios that come our way, " said Senior Airman Anthony Salvione, 4th Security Forces Squadron patrolman. "Training is essential to accomplishing the mission."
