The post-attack reconnaissance team are the people who leave a hardened structure after a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive attack. Their mission is to check the surrounding area for casualties, unexploded ordnance, contamination and damage to structures or equipment.

Airmen from duty sections base wide received training on how to properly place contamination detection paper, cover assets with plastic to prevent them from being contaminated during a CBRNE attack and help 4th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal teams identify unexploded ordnance.

This training helps prepare Airmen for the upcoming operational readiness exercises that will culminate in a Phase II operational readiness inspection in 2012.
