What is the 911th ARS?

The mission of the 911th Air Refueling Squadron is to organize, train and equip KC-135R/T personnel and aircraft for deployment, aerial refueling and airlift operations in support the United States and its allies. There are 294 active duty Airmen and civilian personnel assigned to the 911th ARS between operations and maintenance sections.

The first active tanker associate squadron initiated into the Air Force was the 911th ARS, April 11, 2008. The 911th ARS is the first active tanker squadron within the 916th Air Refueling Wing. Since their activation, the 911th ARS staff earned recognition for their operational capabilities with an Outstanding Unit Award and the Gen. Spaatz Award for being the "Best Air Refueling Squadron in Air Mobility Command."
