Medical readiness is vital to all service members, and there is a new program available that allows Airmen to view their entire medical status online.

The newly implemented Aeromedical Services Information Management System program allows Airmen to take control of their medical readiness by listing breakdowns of medical requirements based on what is current, due and overdue. The system is updated daily to give Airmen the most timely, correct information possible.

Medical readiness is assessed by six key components: Periodic Health Assessment (PHA), Duty Limiting Conditions (DLC), Dental Readiness, Immunization Status, Laboratory tests, and Medical Equipment. In the past, members were notified of these requirements via e-mail, physically walking into the medical group, or from their supervision.

Let's face it, no one enjoys receiving nagging e-mails because a medical requirement was not met. w We live in a digital age where information is only a few clicks away. Computers allow us to pay bills online, check scores, get the news, etc. It only seems logical that people should be able to access information about their medical status.

Below is the step-by-step process involved in accessing and using this new program:

1. Log into the Portal using a CAC enabled government computer.

2. Select the "Home" tab at the top of the page; this will bring you to the AF Portal page.

3. Select the drop down "Fitness & Health" under Featured Links about half way down.

4. Select the link "Medical Readiness-Deployment Health," the eighth link from the top of the page.

5. Step 4 launches ASIMS WEB in a separate window to ensure your pop up blocker is off. Review the consent form and select "OK."

6. Select the link "My Individual Medical Readiness Status."

7. View your medical status. If you are yellow or red on a requirement call 722-1172 or stop by the 4th Medical Group to ensure compliance.

Now that you have the key to viewing your medical status, you are in control of being medically ready for a deployment. This application provides every Airman the opportunity to be completely responsible for his or her deployment capability at any moment. If you have any questions regarding ASIMS WEB, contact your Unit Deployment Managers or Public Health at 722-1172.
