Preparation for this spring's "Wings Over Wayne" air show and open house are in full swing as the event schedule becomes finalized, and the months leading up to the big weekend quickly slip away.

As part of the pre-show preparation Thunderbird pilot, Capt. Kristin Hubbard, visited Seymour Johnson Air Force Base to perform an airfield inspection for a show she is excited to be a part of Feb. 10.

"This is a great opportunity for us to come to Seymour Johnson to do the air show in April and showcase the fine precision of the Air Force," said the first female Thunderbirds narrator. "(Spectators) can expect a lot of noise and an amazing show."

The free show featuring military and civilian flying acts will also celebrate 70 years of the USO.

"We will be performing a loud and impressive and absolutely brilliant show," Captain Hubbard said. "The families should come out, they are going to absolutely love the demonstrations they see here."

The Thunderbirds are one of many groups lined up to perform during "Wings Over Wayne" April 16 and 17. For more information about the open house show and to see a list of scheduled performers visit www.wingsoverwayneairshow.com.
