The Logistics Compliance Assessment Program inspection team arrived here, Feb. 7. The team, from Langley AFB, Va., inspects all lead major commands to ensure each unit meets requirements listed in their specific Air Force Instructions.

The LCAP began Oct. 1, 2009, born out of Logistics Standardization and Evaluation Program. The Logistics Compliance Assessment Team, based out of Langley AFB, Va., evaluates all lead major commands to ensure each unit meets requirements from their AFI.

Team members must be a master sergeant and who has experience as a Master Sergeant in the field they are evaluating.

The checklist used by the inspectors focuses on compliance, quality verification inspections and personnel evaluations within the squadron's supply, transportation, fuels, munitions and readiness units for five days. Employee proficiency and training, tool accountability, and facilities and equipment maintenance are also designated mission critical compliance areas.

The clearly-defined standards both simplify individual commands' abilities to meet the exacting requirements and highlight focus areas for evaluation teams. Pass or fail grades are based on a graded assessment with percentage scores and uses the five-tier rating scale such as outstanding, excellent, satisfactory, marginal and unsatisfactory.
