Dorm residents received a sweet surprise from members of both Officers and Enlisted Wives Clubs, as they delivered cookies to the Airmen during their annual cookie drive Dec. 9, 2010.

To reach out to Airmen who live in the dorms and let them know they are not alone this holiday season, the OSC and the ESC collected homemade cookies for them. The cookies, ranging from the traditional sugar cookie to chocolate chip ,were packaged and delivered to the dorm residents with cards decorated by local elementary school students.

Nikki Veilleux, wife of Capt. Thomas Veilleux of the 334th Fighter Squadron and an organizer for the event, said it is essential to show the Airmen in the dorms how important they are to the wing.

"It is important for Airmen to know they're thought of highly and it lets them know they are appreciated," she said.

Many Airmen in the dorms are not near family, so the cookies provide them an extra bit of holiday cheer.

Many Airmen inte dorms appreciate homemade goodies, said Vonda Seia, wife of Chief Master Sgt. David Seia of the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

Santa's OSC and ESC helpers delivered the homemade cookies to nearly 600 Airmen in the dorms. The leftover cookies were given to security forces and fire department Airmen.
