Santa Claus is coming to town to meet with good little boys and girls from the Seymour Johnson community Dec. 6, during the base Christmas tree lighting event.

Festivities run from 5-9 p.m. in the Base Exchange parking lot located at the corner of Wright Brothers Avenue and Edwards Street.

"It will be a fun time for all who attends and a great way to step into the Holiday Season," said Shawna Morton, Heritage Hall Community Center director.

There will be a variety of vendors on hand selling everything from holiday crafts to drinks and snacks. In addition, entertainment will be provided throughout the event by the Singing Stripes, local elementary students, a martial arts demonstration and a song and dance performance by children from the Youth Center.

"Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. and stay until 9 p.m.," Ms. Morton said. "Families can line up to take pictures with Santa. Photos will be taken by a member of the 4th Force Support Squadron and uploaded on the FSS Web site for people to download."

The photos can be downloaded at www.sjfss.com.

In the event of rain, the event will take place Dec. 9 at the same time and place. For more information about the event, call 722-0039.
