The 4th Fighter Wing Phase I Operational Readiness Inspection testing the wing's preparation and mobilization from peacetime readiness into a wartime posture on short notice, wrapped up, Oct. 26.

Even through a downpour of heavy winds and rain, Seymour Johnson Airmen pushed through the inspection, processing Airman and generating jets.

The goal for all unit throughout the wing to receive at least an overall satisfactory grade. Inspectors from Air Combat Command, headquartered in Langley AFB, Va., traveled here to test the ability of base personnel to deploy Airmen, aircraft, and cargo during elevated force protection conditions for a sustained period of time. Everyone on base, to include dependants and civilian personnel, increased their situational awareness. In addition, several Airmen from the base augmented the 4th Security Forces Squadron to help provide an extra layer of protection for the base community and the wing assets.
