Local donations make Afghan winters warmer

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Airmen from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., arrived here to pick up donated humanitarian supplies, collected through the Goldsboro MERCI Center, for transportation to Afghanistan, Sept. 2.

The donations consisted of men and women's winter clothing and weighed approximately 10,000 pounds. The items will be sent overseas on a KC-10 Extender for distribution during humanitarian aid missions throughout Afghanistan.
