SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 4th Fighter Wing and the 916th Air Refueling Wing evacuated approximately 30 F-15E Strike Eagles and three KC-135R Stratotankers to Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., due to the threat of high winds associated with Hurricane Earl, Sept. 2.

Once wing leadership determines Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is safe the jets and aircrew will return.
