Airmen from the 4th Logistical Readiness Squadron lent a helping hand at the MERCI Mission center to sort and prepare food and clothing for shipment to Afghanistan for distribution during humanitarian missions, Aug. 20, 2010.

The Airmen prepared approximately 15 pallets of food and clothing for delivery to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The donated items will be delivered via the Denton program which allows private U.S. citizens and organizations to use space available on U.S. military cargo planes to transport humanitarian goods, such as clothing, food, medical and educational supplies, and agricultural equipment and vehicles, to countries in need, according to the U.S. Aid Web site, www.usaid.gov.
