SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Col. Anne Winkler assumed command of the 4th Mission Support Group from Col. William Thomas Jr. here July 12.

Colonel Winkler was previously the Director, Air Force Human Resource Management School, Ira C. Eaker Center for Professional Development, Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. As the director, she was responsible for educating Air Force personnel and providing them with professional continuing education for development and competence at the strategic, operational and tactical levels.

Colonel Winkler earned her commission in May 1987 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Southeast Missouri University.
