4th OG receives new commander

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Col. Brian Kirkwood assumed command of the 4th Operations Group from Col. Kevin Felser here June 30.

Colonel Kirkwood was previously the Air Force Forces A3 director of operations for the U.S. Air Forces Central Command in Southwest Asia. He has flown and participated in Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Northern Watch, Deny Flight, Provide Comfort, Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

Colonel Kirkwood received his commission in 1987 through ROTC from the University of Washington with a degree in civil engineering.
