The 4th Force Support Squadron hosted a Wounded Warrior Project half marathon and 10-kilometer race open to the entire Goldsboro community. The event raised awareness about the program which helps honor and empower wounded servicemembers. The Wounded Warrior Foundation follows a set of core values which are fun, integrity, loyalty, innovation and service.

Approximately 180 runners registered for the cause, raising $3,300 for the project. The first place finishers in the 10-kilometer race were Kate Handerson and Chris Huntington. The half marathon first place finishers were Captain Elissa Ballas, 4th Medical Operations Squadron physical therapist, and Captain Matthew Lynch, 4th Fighter Wing judge advocate general officer.
