Tammie Moore 4th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The Southern Pines Inn staff proved attention to detail pays off when they captured the 2009 Air Combat Command Innkeeper Award in the small base category. "The staff works very hard to provide the best customer service possible," said Charles Wilson, Southern Pines Inn lodging manager. "This accomplishment shows the staff's hard work is truly appreciated and recognized." This is not the first time the Southern Pines Inn earned this award, they captured it in 1998 and the same year went on to win the Air Force-level award. Evaluators rack and stack competing inns and staff of similar sizes on their customer service, housekeeping, financial and facility management, services and related support activities. Mr. Wilson attributes earning this award to the dedication, care and hard work of his staff, plus great customers. "I would like to send out a special thanks to all of our customers and the base agencies that continue to support us," Mr. Wilson said. It has been a huge honor to represent the 4th Fighter Wing and compete with the other Air Force bases. The Air Force-level Innkeeper award announcements take place this summer.
