Army and Air National Guard members from the 42nd Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team practiced their mission of supporting local and state authorities with a training exercise here, March 30. The team identifies hazardous agents and substances, assesses current and future threats, creates and prescribes response measures in dealing with hazards and is able to provide additional military support when requested.

The team is prepared for rapid mobilization to any part of the state. In addition to providing first responders, identification and decontamination, the team offers medical assessments and treatment to contaminated people. They also provide protection to strategic national interests against any chemical, biological or radiologic weapon threats.
