Sixteen Airmen stood-out above their peers during the February Phase I Operational Readiness Exercise here.

These 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron Airmen formed the team that generated the first F-15E Strike Eagle of the ORE.

"They set the example for the other generation cell teams," said Master Sgt. Milo Wink, 333rd Aircraft Maintenance Unit section chief. "In an event with a steep learning curve this team was the first to generate an aircraft and meet the standards set by quality assurance."

The team generated six combat-ready aircraft during an ORE shift.

"Their strict adherence to technical data while preparing the aircraft exemplifies the core value of service before self," Wink said.

The Airmen's squadron leadership are not the only ones who took note of their hard work during the ORE.

"This team of 16 outstanding Airmen displayed a level of expertise in aircraft generation, attention to detail and compliance with technical orders that no other team was able to match," said Col. Patrick Doherty, 4th Fighter Wing's vice commander. "We're very proud of their effort and thank them for setting the tone and expectation of excellence for the entire wing with the remaining OREs and ORI this fall."
