Southeastern Protective Services security officers assist 4th Security Forces Squadron with maintaining the safety of personnel and assets on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Between the day shift personnel, all will rotate through the vehicle search area once a week. During an inspection, officers search for anything that appears abnormal or suspect suspects such as drugs, alcohol, illegal weapons and explosives. The officers inspect between 150 and 200 vehicle a day. Commercial truck drivers must provide security officers with proper documents including state or federal identification, vehicle registration and insurance with policy dates to enter the base.
