The mission of the Watkins-Das Learning Center staff is to provide customers with expert assistance, access to mission-essential information while supporting academic achievement and to enhance the quality of life for the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base community.

The center offers many free services to registered patrons including study guides for College-Level Examination Program and Defense Activity for Non-traditional Education tests, academic resources for onsite institutions, a 22-station computer lab, broadband internet access, fax services and a coin-operated photocopier at 10 cents a page. There is a "no swap/no sweat" book exchange shelf area where customers can donate or take a book. The library also has a variety of items for young patrons including story time every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., a collection of children's books, computers with educational games, home-schooling resources and a children's summer reading program.
