Tuskegee Airman passes

Retired Lt. Col. Lee A. Archer Jr.'s memorial service was held at the Riverside Church in New York City, Feb. 4, 2010. Colonel Archer was one of the original trainees to enter the Tuskegee Aviator Project in 1941. He was a World War II P-51 pilot and recipient of the Presidential Gold Medal Award. Lee Archer III, Colonel Archer's son, and Dr. William H. Cosby Jr., American comedian/actor, shared their memories with more than 300 attendees during the service. Colonel Archer, a New York native, died on Jan. 27, 2010 at the age of 90, of natural causes.
