Three jets, three teams and one winner. Airman from the 333rd, 334th and 336th Aircraft Maintenance Units competed side-by-side for the right to be called best load crew of the fourth quarter at the load barn on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., Jan. 15, 2010.

Unlike previous competitions here, all the teams competed at the same time testing their speed against one another. The load crews mounted three different types of weapons onto an F-15 E Strike Eagle; the team who completed the tasks with the least errors in the quickest time earned the load crew of the quarter title. The winning crew was from the 336th.

The competition also included a jammer driving contest. A jammer is a vehicle used to lift, carry and move munitions. During this portion, the plastic training bomb used was not strapped down, making the course even more difficult. Running over a cone was a minor reduction in points, while dropping the bomb left a hefty hole in the final score.

Editor's note: The 335th AMU did not participate in the contest due to their recent return from Afghanistan.
